If there is any love story which people continue to swear by even today after Heer-Ranja is Mirza-Sahiba. Well, here is the new song Sahiba from the movie Phillauri which is a soulful reminiscence of this tragic yet immortal love story. 

 

Starring Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Pirzada, Sahiba has been sung by Romy and Pawni Pandey who have simply spelled magic with their voice. Directed by Shahswat Sachdev, Anvita Dutt is the woman behind those heart-aching lyrics and we must say they have all done a commendable job. However, we do wish to see Diljit lending his voice for this especially after hearing his beautiful rendition of Ek Kudi for the movie Udta Punjab last year.

 

The untamed chemistry between Anushka and Diljit will make the song all the more relatable. Anushka and Diljit, who are sharing the screen space for the first time, are convincing in almost every frame. The song definitely brings back memories of the romances of antiquity.

 

The song, which aims to capture the emotions of longing, of separation and of desire, will definitely tug at your heartstrings.

 

With intense lyrics backed by an equally beautiful composition and soundtrack, this new track is sure to leave us all enamored.

 

Directed by Anshai Lal, Phillauri also stars Anushka, Diljit Dosanjh and debutant Suraj Sharma in the lead roles. The film is all set to hit the screen on March 24, 2017.
